The Arts Council Announces Business Workshop Series

The Arts Council will offer a three-part Business Workshop Series in May and June led by local businessman Tra Williams. As competition for entertainment dollars increases and consumers continue to restrict spending, The Arts Council is offering this workshop series to help local arts organizations and individual artists grow their businesses and remain competitive in a tight economic climate.

Workshop leader Tra Williams is a small business and franchising consultant with an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a graduate degree from Georgia State University. He has more than ten years’ experience working with franchise businesses. Workshops will be held at The Arts Council in the Von Braun Center (700 Monroe St. Huntsville, AL) from 9:00 a.m. to noon on three Saturdays in May and June:

Saturday, May 19 “Explosive Growth” The four ways to increase your organization’s profits

Saturday, June 2 “Catapult Your Brand” Why customers choose you or your competition

Saturday, June 16 “Recruiting Rock Stars Volunteers” Recruit, identify, and retain true Rock Stars

This three-part Business Workshop Series is part of The Arts Council’s year-round workshop schedule for Arts Council members and the community. Arts Council Executive Director said, “The arts are a business – whether you represent a nonprofit arts organization or are working as an individual artist in our community. Artists and arts organizations need to focus on the same revenue, branding, and recruitment goals that are shared by our colleagues throughout the business community.”

Workshops are open to the public priced at $15 per workshop or $45 for the series. Arts Council members receive discounted pricing of $10 per workshop or $25 for the series. Purchasers of the non-member series are eligible for discounted membership in The Arts Council - $15 off an Individual Membership or $25 off an Organizational Membership.
